Keep reading to learn more about his background and education.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Muaina first decided to become a dentist back when he was still in high school. A couple of his friends grew up with dentists as parents—who happened to become his mentors later on! They were a major influence in his life as well as in their community. It was from his experience with them that he developed a passion for dentistry and how it can touch the lives of others.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Muaina attended Brigham Young University before going on to study at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine. He later obtained his certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the University of Texas School of Dentistry. He also underwent a CEREC mentorship and is currently an active member of the Seattle Study Club and SPEAR Education.

Outside Of The Dental Office, What Do You Like To Do?

Whenever he isn’t at the practice treating pearly whites, Dr. Muaina is at home with his beloved wife and their five children—four boys and a little princess. They moved to Texas back in 2010 and have been loving their experience here. Other than dentistry, Dr. Muaina is an avid sports fan, enjoying and attending live sporting events. His favorite teams are the LA Dodgers and LA Lakers. In his spare time, he practices photography, especially whenever he travels. His second greatest passion is humanitarian work, as he’s been a board member with the G3 Foundation for 15 years, traveling to the Dominican Republic twice yearly to help offer dental services to impoverished communities. One interesting fact about him: he’s Polynesian and has a mix of Hawaiian and Samoan!
